Duterte reacts to Chinese presence in Benham Rise
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte said he does not want to “fight over ownership and sovereignty” with China at this time because “things are going great” in easing the sour bileteral relations over maritime disputes.
At a press conference on Monday, Duterte sounds off government’s position after Chinese survey ships were spotted in Benham Rise, a new territory granted to the Philippines by the United Nations east of Luzon.
