Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan requested 12 billion tenge for snap presidential election, Deputy Finance Minisrer Berik Sholpankulov said.
“Validation of expenditures is under way, maybe the sum will decrease after the checks, we’ll see,” he said at the Senate’s meeting on April 11.
70% of the requested sum will be spent on paying to hired personnel for polling stations, he said.
“Last year, 8.8 billion tenge were assumed to be spent on 2020 presidential vote,” he said.
About 7.5 billion tenge will be allocated for each presidential candidate.
Snap election was scheduled for 9 June 2019 by interim president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
