Quite often in our lives, we receive invitations to conferences, concerts, wedding ceremonies and various other events. However, elections are special events. Undoubtedly, an invitation to them evokes a feeling of pride in all of us.
This time, an invitation to elections which every citizen who has a voting right will receive has a completely new look. After receiving such invitations, voters will feel not only attention given to them but also the seriousness of the forthcoming political event.
Indeed, independence gave us a great feeling of awareness that our vote is of important significance. With the further development of our independent state founded by First President Islam Karimov our compatriots enjoy all the benefits given by independence and also feel a great deal of attention and respect accorded to them.
“All the necessary measures are being taken to hold the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan conforming to principles of fairness. Our country’s citizens, voters are the main participants in the elections. Their active participation in the elections depends on invitations. The invitations to the elections have been made in accordance with a resolution dated 28 October 2016 of the Central Electoral Commission `On approving a sample invitation to the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its description’,” says Suyarjon Kurbonkulov, secretary of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The invitations to the 2016 elections are cardinally different from the invitations made for the previous elections. For the first time, the invitations contain information about candidates from political parties.
As follows from the description, the invitations to this year’s presidential elections are printed in colour on A5 format paper. On the front side of the invitation there is the emblem of the Central Electoral Commission on a blue background, under which there is this writing: “Invitation to Elections” followed by the year, day and month of the elections and words “Presidential Election Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The back side of the invitation is decorated with golden ornament. In its upper part there are words in dark blue: “The precinct electoral commission invites you to exercise your constitutional right and vote in the 4 December 2016 elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
Moreover, here in order of acceptance of signature lists by the Central Electoral Commission are the names and symbols of parties as well as the surnames, names and patronymics of presidential candidates put forward by the parties.
Many voters, especially representatives of the older generation remember invitations to elections that were before our country obtained independence. Those invitations were unremarkable and were printed on a small piece of paper.
It is expected that more than 21.4 million citizens of our country will vote in the forthcoming 4 December 2016 elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
These day, the invitations to the elections are being distributed to them.
