Agreement on China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway signed, construction to start on Dec. 27

 

 The signing ceremony of the Investment Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Company Ltd. took place in the building of the Yntymak-Ordo Presidential Administration.

Kyrgyz officials optimistic about China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway  project

The Agreement was signed by Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Absattar Syrgabaev and Chairman of the Board of Director of CKU Railway Company Ltd. Zhong Shenggui.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev noted that this day can and should be considered a historic day for the three countries, because by signing this Investment Agreement on design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the railroad China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway the parties for a long and difficult period of negotiation process move to the practical implementation of such a massive infrastructure project.

The signing ceremony was attended by delegations from the Chinese and Uzbek sides led by Charge d’Affaires of the People’s Republic of China in Kyrgyzstan Li Baojie and Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Saidikram Iyazkhodjaev.

The event participants noted that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is an important element of the strategy of development of transport infrastructure of the countries participating in the project and will bring the countries not only socio-economic effect, but also strengthen inter-regional ties.

The construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will be launched on Dec. 27 this year.
