Uzbekistan observes election silence day
coverage of the election campaign in Uzbekistan, one day ahead of Sunday’s (December 4) presidential election.
The election silence allows voters to settle their political preferences and decide which candidate they will vote for.
According to the Central Election Commission, there are a total of 9383 polling stations, including 44 under Uzbekistan’s foreign diplomatic missions, due to operate at the election. They are well-equipped for the voting and feature voter lists for public examination. Information about the presidential candidates is on display at each polling station, and neighbourhood election commissions informed voters on the respective time and venue.
The transparency and openness of the upcoming presidential election in Uzbekistan will be ensured by observers.
Nearly 1400 commission-accredited local and foreign media will cover Uzbekistan’s presidential election.
