Construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway to start this year
he final stage of negotiations on construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan nears completion in Beijing, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said during the board meeting in the Ministry of Education and Science on March 7.
Implementation of the given project will begin this year, the Cabinet Chairman said.
“Construction of the railway will cost $7-8 billion only on our territory. We were in a dead end, now we will get out of it. All feasibility studies were prepared. The talks are nearing completion,” the Cabinet Chairman said.
The Cabinet Chairman said construction of the first stage of Kambar-Ata-1 HPP will be finished this year also.
“We plan to build the access roads, construction camp, bridges and tunnels on our own. The World Bank supports this project in full,” he added.
The Cabinet Chairman construction of 50 small hydropower plants is in progress. Solar and wind power plants will be launched this year, he said.
