Dec 27: Iran claims Oct 7th Hamas’ strike on Israel was a retaliation of top commander Qasem Soleimani’s killing by US
Iran contends that the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel were in retaliation for the US-assassination of Qasem Soleimani, the IRGC Major General and commander of the Quds Force. Shocking details surrounding the events were disclosed by international news agencies. Soleimani, a prominent military figure, met his demise in 2020 through a US drone strike ordered by former President Donald Trump.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) labeled the US strike as a ‘terrorist act.’ Despite Iran’s assertion, Hamas denies that the killing of Soleimani served as motivation for their attacks in Israel. Soleimani, recognized as one of the most influential figures in Iran, led the country’s elite Quds Force, playing a crucial role in military operations across the Middle East.
