PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad made a video to extend Chinese New Year greetings to Malaysians, reminding people to protect the nation’s stability, peace and harmony.

Dr Mahathir said Malaysians are fortunate to be able to celebrate diversity, but reminded citizens that while this is a norm, this peaceful situation might not always be the case.

“We cannot take this lightly. There are those among us who will try to disrupt peace and harmony for various reasons. I hope we will not allow ourselves to be influenced by these parties and their reasons.

“Let us all pledge to defend the stability, harmony and peace in this beloved country of ours,” he said in his message on Monday (Feb 4).
