India claims hit at known Pakistani town and Jaish-e-Mohammed terror haven
New Delhi: The Indian Air Force on Tuesday destroyed terror launchpads by flying into Pakistani territory and dropping payloads weighing as much as 1000 kilograms. The key areas that were bombed are Muzaffarabad, Chakothi and Balakot.
The attack is of huge significance as Balakot falls beyond Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, in proper Pakistani territory, unlike Muzaffarabad and Chakothi. As many as 12 Mirage 2000 jets struck Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) terror launch pads in Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakothi areas in Pakistan. The attack was carried out at around 3:30 am, IAF sources have said. As per the IAF sources, the fighter jets dropped 1,000 kilogrammes of bombs at terrorist camps across the Line of Control.
It is a major strike as Balakot houses training camps of the Jaish-e-Mohammed, the terrorist organisation responsible for the dastardly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama in which 40 innocent Central Reserve Police Force jawans were martyred on February 14.
The town has also been under the radar of the United States of America for its significance as a terror haven
