Interim President of Uzbekistan holds talks with Chinese Foreign Minister
Bishkek (AKIpress) – China-UzbekInterim President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Sunday received Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, reported the press service of the head of state.
Welcoming the guest, Mirziyoyev thanked the Chinese leadership and President of China Xi Jinping for the condolences and support in connection with the death of the first president of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov.
The talks addressed the development of the Uzbek-Chinese relations in trade and economic, investment and financial-technical cooperation.
Praising bilateral ties between the two countries, the sides vowed to expand cooperation in all promising areas of mutual interest.
China is one of the leading trade and investment partners of Uzbekistan. Bilateral trade of the countries exceeded $4 billion, the Chinese investment in the Uzbek economy made more than $6.5 billion.
