Kyrgyzstan wants to host 2031 Asian Cup together with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM – The Kyrgyz Football Union, together with the football associations of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, plans to host the 2031 Asian Cup.
The application was sent to the Asian Football Confederation on February 24.
The KFU leadership held a series of negotiations with representatives of the Football Association of Uzbekistan and the Football Federation of Tajikistan. At this stage, a preliminary application has been submitted to the AFC, and information about the stadiums that will host the tournament matches will be provided to the AFC later.
The football facilities under construction in Kyrgyzstan make it possible to host tournaments of this level. According to the AFC requirements, the stadium hosting the final match and the opening ceremony of the Asian Cup must accommodate at least 50,000 spectators. The Bishkek Arena stadium under construction will be designed for 51,000 spectators, the KFU emphasized.
“It will be a great honor for us to co-host the continent’s main football tournament with other Central Asian countries. This will strengthen friendly ties with neighboring countries and enhance Kyrgyzstan’s international image,” President of the KFU Kamchybek Tashiev said.
The full bid process for the Asian Cup consists of several stages. Kuwait, Indonesia, and the UAE have also announced their intention to host the 2031 tournament.
The AFC will determine the host of the tournament in 2026.
