KUALA LUMPUR: The Miss Malaysia World 2016 Tatiana Kumar has been stripped of the title just seven months after she won the crown at the Corus Hotel, here.

The announcement was made via the Miss Malaysia World organisation’s Instagram account (@miss_world_malaysia) today.

The post stated that Tatiana, 19, had breached the code of conduct and contract.

“It has come to our attention that there is a breach of our Code of Conduct and contract by the reigning Miss Malaysia World 2016 Tatiana Kumar.

“We wish to announce that, after due consideration, with effect 6/3/17, Ms Tatiana Nandha Kumar will no longer be the title holder for Miss Malaysia World 2016,” said former National Director and Licensee for Miss Malaysia World Datuk Anna Lin.

Lin had stepped down from her role as of January this year, with the reason that her term had ended after reigning the post from 2013.

In the statement, Lin also announced first runner-up Shweta Sekhon, 20, as the new Miss Malaysia World 2016/17.

Born from a French mother and a Malaysian father, Tatiana was crowned as Miss Malaysia World 2016 in August last year.

She represented Malaysia at Miss World 2016 in the United States on December 18, 2016.
