Mongolia, South Korea to ease visa requirements
State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren received Ambassador of Korea to Mongolia Oh Song to discuss a South Korean visa facility for Mongolian applicants, The UP Post reports.
State Secretary D.Davaasuren presented Ambassador Oh with an official letter outlining the facilitation of eased visa requirements between the two countries, mutual visa exemption, and issuing multiple-entry visas to the heads and officials of Mongolian enterprises paying taxes of over 500 million MNT per year.
D.Davaasuren pointed out that regular consultative meetings on foreign affairs between South Korea and Mongolia have been of great importance to expanding economic relations and cooperation, increasing investment, protecting the individual legal rights of Mongolian citizens traveling and living in South Korea, and dealing with the challenges facing consular affairs cooperation, but that a consultative meeting between the two countries was not held this past two years.
The sides agreed to organize a consultative meeting in the first half of 2017. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to expand consular relations, protect the legal rights of Mongolians living abroad, and to provide them with fast and accessible consular services,” D.Davaasuren stated.
He also noted that the proposal to facilitate issuing multiple-entry visas to Mongolian entrepreneurs was the Mongolian state’s attempt to support domestic businesses in their relations, cooperation, and international trade.
