Rawalpindi police have used tear gas in clashes with stone-throwing supporters of Pakistani opposition leader Imran Khan, adding to political deadlock before his plans to shut down the capital next week.
There was no immediate report of injuries on Friday but TV stations carried footage of police charging with batons, as plumes of tear gas billowed in the air.
