Prices for the agricultural products have risen on the Tajik market, however, authorities are claiming it is a seasonal phenomenon.
The growth of prices is due to the temporary closure of the strategic highway Dushanbe-Chanak-Khujand for several days due to the recent avalanches in the country.
“Such phenomenon is annually observed in Tajikistan when the previous harvest is over and traders try to sell the agricultural products more expensive knowing that a little time remains until the new harvest,” said the experts.
According to them, deficit in agricultural products is not observed in the country, on the contrary, the abundance of products is preserved, noted the authorities.
