What has Israel said?

The Israeli military said in a statement it had carried out a targeted attack on the top leadership of Hamas.
It did not specify where the attack took place, but said steps were taken to minimise harm to uninvolved people.
Separatetly, an Israeli official confirmed to Reuters Israel had carried out an attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar.
US Embassy in Doha issues shelter in place order for US citizens


We have seen reports of missile strikes occurring in Doha. The U.S. Embassy has instituted a shelter-in-place order for their facilities. U.S. citizens are advised to shelter-in-place and monitor @USEmbassyDoha social media for updates.

Qatar says it condemns the Israeli attack
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Majed Al Ansari called the attack an “assault constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms” in a post on X:

Israel targets Hamas officials in Qatar

Israeli army radio said Israel tried to attack Hamas officials in Qatar on Tuesday.
Qatar’s Al Jazeera television, citing a Hamas source, said the attack targeted Hamas Gaza ceasefire negotiators.
Several blasts were heard in Qatar’s Doha on Tuesday, Reuters witnesses said.
Israel media, citing a senior Israeli official, said the attack was aimed at top Hamas leaders including Khalil al-Hayya, its Gaza chief.
Smoke was seen rising over the Katara District in the capital, an eyewitness said.
