Under the Decree of the Interim President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated November 2, 2016, Shermatov Sherzod Khotamovich became the First Deputy Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan.

Sherzod Shermatov previously worked as a rector at Inha University in Tashkent.
