Sultan Ibrahim visits Bahrain’s Interior Ministry, meets King Hamad

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today visited the Ministry of Interior (MOI) in Bahrain.

Accompanied by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Sultan Ibrahim arrived at the Police Fort at MOI around 12.30pm (5.30pm Malaysian time) and was received by Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

The national anthems of both countries were played, after which Their Majesties witnessed a parade.

The monarchs then rode in an open-top vehicle to inspect a guard-of-honour, followed by a silent drill performance and a presentation by the Police Band.

Following the parade, Their Majesties proceeded in a special buggy to King Hamad’s office at the MOI for a brief meeting, before having lunch at the Officers’ Club.

Accompanying Sultan Ibrahim were Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj, and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj. Also present were Malaysia’s Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin, and Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain Datuk Shazryll Zahiran.

Sultan Ibrahim arrived in Bahrain on Thursday after concluding a four-day state visit to Saudi Arabia. The three-day visit to Bahrain marks his sixth state visit, following trips to Singapore, China, Brunei, Russia, and Saudi Arabia
