Turkey holds joint military drill with 7 countries
ANKARA — An international joint military drill named “Erciyes-2019” was completed in Turkey’s central province of Keyseri, Turkish National Defense Ministry announced on Thursday.
The drill conducted between May 6-23 was participated by seven allied countries, including Azerbaijan, the United States, Romania, Georgia, Pakistan, Qatar and Italy, the ministry said in a video posted on its website.
According to state-run Anadolu News Agency, there were 895 personnel, 67 vehicles, seven transport planes and 10 helicopters participating in the exercise.
As part of the exercise, 120 paratroopers successfully conducted the airborne operation from C-130 and C-160 transport aircraft, the report said.
Meanwhile, Turkey has been launching the “Seawolf-2019” navy military drill in Mediterranean, the Aegean Sea and the Black Sea since May 13.
