Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan agree on price reduction for freight transportation by rail
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have agreed on mutual reduction of prices for transportation of goods by rail, reported the press services of the Kazakhstan Railways on February 22.
The agreement was reached between the JSC NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” the company Uzbekistan Railways in the framework of the 16th meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between the two railway companies.
The meeting addressed further cooperation in the field of railway transport, flexible tariff policy.
The sides have reached agreements to grant lower tariffs for export transportation of Kazakh grain and flour, goods in the Kazakh refrigerated containers, transit through the territory of Kazakhstan, Uzbek agricultural products, said the report.
The volume of transportation of goods by rail between the two countries amounted to 19 million tons last year.
