KUALA LUMPUR – It has been a remarkable journey for Malaysia´s palm oil industry with its mammoth contribution in uplifting the country´s socio-economy and wealth ever since the first commercial planting of the golden crop at Tennamaram Estate in 1917.

And tomorrow Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will pay tribute to where it all began with a visit to Tennamaram Estate in Kuala Selangor to commemorate the 100th year of commercial oil palm planting.

the golden crop has been fuelling the economy and the nation is literally built on this sector, with its vast contribution and exports touching a whopping RM67.6 billion last year.
