Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to sign several agreements during Mirziyoyev’s visit to Ashgabat

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay official visit to Turkmenistan on March 1.

Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan plan to sign several agreements during their meeting in Ashgabat, reported the state news agency of Turkmenistan.

During their latest phone talk, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted importance of strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.

Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan support businessmen of both countries in participation in expos and fairs regularly held in two countries within the scope of the agreement between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on economic cooperation for 2013-2017.

“One of successful projects implemented recently by both parties was construction of Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-Chine gas pipeline,” the statement said.

“Uzbekistan expressed readiness to participate in implementation of the Central Asia-Middle East international corridor project. The transport sector projects also include development of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Caspian Sea-South Caucasus corridor with access to the Black Sea ports in Georgia, Turkey, Romania and other countries,” the statement said.
