404 aircrafts and 60 airports to serve over 6 mln. Indonesians for Ramadan Eid

Ahead of the busy Eid homecoming travel season in 2025, Indonesia has made 404 aircraft available to accommodate the anticipated rise in passengers, exceeding the projected need of 325 aircraft.

“Based on our projections, 325 aircraft are needed for Eid homecoming travel in 2025. With 404 aircraft already available and operational, our regular flight services should be able to accommodate the increase in passengers optimally,” said Lukman F. Laisa, acting director general of civil aviation, inRiyadh Air orders 60 Airbus A321-family jets a statement issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Transportation.

 

The number of flight travellers during this year’s Eid homecoming season is expected to increase by 12 per cent, reaching 6,186,298 compared to 5,529,659 last year.

Of this, domestic passengers are forecast to total 4,951,391, while international travellers are projected to reach 1,234,907.

To ensure smooth operations, the directorate has outlined plans to enhance monitoring at 60 airports, addressing flight safety and preparing for severe weather conditions.

The busiest travel days are expected to be March 28 for departures and April 6 for returns. – BERNAMA
