Nicki Minaj visits the White House, meets President Trump

Trinidadian rapper and singer-songwriter Nicki Minaj stands as she is recognized by President Donald Trump as he delivers remarks on 'Trump Accounts' at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC, on January 28.

This one is for the boys with the boomin’ system – rapper Nicki Minaj visited with autoworkers at the White House Wednesday, just hours after she joined President Donald Trump on stage, where she called herself “the president’s number one fan.”

Minaj, who was in Washington to promote the administration’s “Trump Accounts” initiative meant to seed investment accounts for American children starting at birth, was spotted arriving on the White House campus Wednesday.

In a video posted to X by White House special assistant to the president Margo Martin, Minaj is seen greeting a group of autoworkers in the Oval Office with Trump.

The Trinidad and Tobago-born rapper has emerged as a vocal supporter of Trump in recent months. After praising a social media post from Trump about Nigeria, she addressed the United Nations in November about the alleged plight of Christians there.

And in December, she heaped praise on Trump and the administration as she joined Turning Point CEO Erika Kirk onstage at the organization’s AmericaFest conference.

The rightward shift marks an about-face for Minaj who in 2018 posted about family separation under Trump’s first term.

“I came to this country as an illegal immigrant @ 5 years old. I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place & having my parents stripped away from me at the age of 5,” she wrote on Facebook. “Please stop this.”

As recently as 2024, Minaj said she was not a US citizen, according to reports. Following her Wednesday visit to the White House, she posted to X a photo of a “Trump Gold Card,” a new immigration visa that allows foreigners to pay $1 million to expedite their visa application.

CNN has asked the White House if the Gold Card Minaj posted Wednesday is official or just a mockup.
