KUALA LUMPUR: Biduanita Negara Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has praised her daughter-in-law, actress Izara Aishah, and Indonesian singer Lesti Kejora for settling their recent differences, calling their reconciliation a hallmark of mutual maturity and sincerity.

The rift began after last Saturday’s Konsert Bumantara Siti Nurhaliza at the Unifi National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Izara took to Threads to criticise Lesti’s team, alleging they were “less than friendly”.

Lesti’s husband, Indonesian actor Rizky Billar, hit back, calling the allegation baseless and claiming Izara’s own bodyguard had acted impolitely towards their son.

But Lesti—who performed as a guest singer at the concert—later explained what happened and apologised to Izara for the misunderstanding.

Commenting on the matter on her Instagram account yesterday, the 46-year-old superstar said the decision by both artistes to apologise was not a sign of weakness or “losing a battle”, but a mark of humility and a willingness to move on.

“Saying sorry does not make us weak, or even losers. In fact, it takes strong, courageous people to do so,” said Siti, adding that Izara and Lesti wanted to “buang yang keruh, ambil yang jernih” (let bygones be bygones).

She said everyone makes mistakes, but the best people take the higher road by humbly apologising and forgiving.

“We must always be the best versions of ourselves. It is always good to settle differences amicably instead of keeping anger in our hearts. It benefits everyone if we choose to bring closure to an unpleasant chapter in our lives.”

Siti concluded: “I’m sure we’ve all experienced similar situations. Put ourselves in their shoes, it’s definitely better to forgive and forget.

“May God guide us all to be careful with our words and actions at all times.”
