Kim arrived to border city of Dandong through New Yalu River Bridge connecting North Korea and China
ISLAMABAD
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in China’s border city of Dandong on Saturday, accompanied by Beijing’s top political advisor, state media reported.
Kim reportedly reached Dandong via the New Yalu River Bridge connecting North Korea and China.
China’s top political advisor Wang Huning accompanied Kim during his visit to Dandong, which is located in northeast China’s Liaoning province, Beijing-based Xinhua News reported.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, conveyed President Xi Jinping’s “cordial greetings and best wishes” to Kim.
No further details about Kim’s visit and meetings with Chinese officials were provided.
The visit comes a day before the anniversary of China’s entry into the 1950-1953 Korean War.

Kim was expected to return to North Korea after Saturday’s visit, Seoul-based Yonhap News reported.
China and North Korea opened the 3-kilometer (2-mile) New Yalu River Bridge this month after a long delay, aiming to revive trade after years of strained ties and pandemic-related disruptions.
Kim’s last visited China in September 2025, to attend the 80th Victory Day celebrations in Beijing, where he held a summit with Xi.
