Yemeni Houties strike Saudi oil pump station, airport, military sites
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said in a statement that the drone strikes hit their targets accurately and that the missile strike on the Saudi capital’s airport scored a direct hit.
The announcement followed three ballistic missile attacks claimed by the Yemeni Armed Forces on Sunday against targets in Saudi Arabia. The forces said the attacks came in response to “the Saudi aggression and the massacres yesterday, which resulted in dozens of martyrs and wounded, mostly women and children, in Sanaa and other Yemeni provinces.”
According to the statement, the first attack targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and successfully reached its intended target. The second struck aircraft shelters, ammunition depots, drone control centers and other positions at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, with the forces reporting accurate and direct hits.
The third attack targeted the southern naval base of Saudi border guard forces in Jizan, resulting in deaths and injuries among Saudi soldiers and officers, according to the Yemeni statement.
The Yemeni Armed Forces pledged to continue their military actions, stating that they “will continue to defend Yemen and its people, will not tolerate the killers of children and women, and will not leave this criminal enemy to continue shedding blood without painful responses that it will not forget.”
The forces also renewed their warning to international and regional airlines, aviation personnel and passengers against traveling through King Khalid International Airport, declaring it unsafe. They extended the warning to Saudi airspace, excluding the airspace above Mecca and Medina.
