President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Sultan Muhammad V on ascension to the throne of the King of Malaysia, said the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

The head of state in his message expressed confidence that the long-term relations between Uzbekistan and Malaysia will be developed for the benefit of the two nations.

Mirziyoyev wished the new King a long life, good health and great successes and prosperity to the Malaysian people.

Malaysia on Tuesday installed its 15th king, Sultan Muhammad V, a relatively youthful monarch known for his fondness for four-wheel driving and other extreme sports.
