Don’t be hypocrites, Zahid tells opposition leaders
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has hit out at opposition leaders who were never satisfied with Putrajaya’s generosity, describing them as ungrateful.
Without naming anyone, Zahid, who is also Umno president, said political leaders, especially those in the opposition, should not be hypocrites.
“I am in awe of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he has never sidelined any state when it comes to allocations,” he said in a speech at a mini-carnival for rural entrepreneurs here.
“But some (state leaders) are never grateful. They smile when they are in front of you but they curse and slander you behind your back.”
Zahid said all political leaders must be civil regardless of their differences.
“There has to be sincerity,” he said.
Also in attendance at the event was Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh and Melaka Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security executive councillor Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
