The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria provided $21-22 million to Kyrgyzstan for fight against HIV/AIDS in 2016-2017, said Deputy Minister of Health Oleg Gorin today at the Parliament plenary session.
“There will be other fundings from the Global Fund in 2017, but it plans to reduce the financing in 2018. Now we are working on the program of the state funding in this sector,” noted Oleg Gorin.
Kyrgyzstan is one of 27 high burden countries, which are estimated to have had at least 4,000 multidrug-resistant TB cases arising annually and/or at least 10% of newly registered TB cases with MDR-TB.
