Nazri: China can be mediator between Pyongyang and Putrajaya
UALA LUMPUR, March 13 — China can be the mediator between Malaysia and North Korea in ensuring there is no diplomatic breakdown, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said today.
The Tourism and Culture Minister explained that if the situation requires, China can act as the middle person to avoid the ongoing diplomatic row between Malaysia and North Korea to escalate any further.
“We don’t need go into a war. China has a role to play, if it needs be. China can be the mediator,” Nazri told reporters during a press conference in Parliament today.
The Umno Supreme Council member added that a war would not arise as “diplomacy will prevail”.
“We could definitely solve it. No war la, come on,” Nazri stressed.
He also said Malaysians should not be too quick to judge North Koreans based on the actions of their leader, Kim Jong-un and the recent killing of his estranged brother, Kim Jong-nam on Malaysian soil.
“As far as I am concerned we should not be profiling them just because of their leader,” Nazri stressed.
