Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held meeting in Turkistan – Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM – The 5th Meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on 11 September 2026 in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, bringing together Prosecutors General and heads of delegations of the OTS Member States to discuss ways to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of justice, security and the rule of law, the organization’s press service said.
Addressing the Meeting, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, emphasized the growing importance of cooperation among the prosecution and law enforcement authorities of the Member States in the face of rapidly evolving security challenges.
The Secretary General underlined that the Council of Prosecutors General of the OTS has become a valuable mechanism for strengthening direct institutional contacts, exchanging experience and best practices, and advancing practical cooperation among the prosecution authorities of the Member States.
Referring to the rapidly changing international security environment, Secretary General Omuraliev highlighted the challenges arising from technological development, digitalization and artificial intelligence. He stressed that cybercrime, online fraud, misuse of artificial intelligence, transnational organized crime, money laundering and other technology-enabled offenses increasingly operate across national borders, requiring faster, more coordinated and technologically advanced responses.
An important outcome of the Meeting was the signing of the Memorandum on Cooperation among the Prosecutor’s Offices of the OTS Member States in the field of public prosecution, aimed at further strengthening collaboration and ensuring effective coordination in the prevention of crime across the Turkic World.

During the meeting Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Beryk Assylov presented a letter of appreciation to Kubanychbek Omuraliev on behalf of the Council of Prosecutors General of the OTS in recognition of his valuable contribution and unwavering support for strengthening cooperation among the Prosecutors General of the Turkic States.
The next Meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the OTS will be held in Azerbaijan.
