Turkmenistan-Belarus political consultations held in Ashgabat

On May 16, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held political consultations with Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The consultations took place at the level of deputy foreign ministers. The delegation of the Belarusian side was led by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Evdochenko.

Noting the high dynamics of the political interstate dialogue, the parties discussed the current state of relations and exchanged views on the implementation of the provisions of the Program of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries. Expressing satisfaction with the mutual support of international initiatives in various international organizations, the sides noted the need for further development of relations in this direction. It was also noted the parties’ interest in the development of inter-parliamentary ties.

Discussing the implementation of previously reached agreements and signed documents, the sides exchanged views and proposals on the development of a complex of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Concerning cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, the sides stressed the need to expand cooperation in science and education. Particular attention was paid to the development of mutually beneficial partnership in the field of high technologies, health and pharmaceuticals, as well as in sports and tourism.
