Yemen’s Armed Forces announced on Sunday that they will issue an “important statement” on Monday, saying it will present “a position worthy of the aspirations of our great people,” amid escalating regional tensions.

Military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree made the announcement without providing further details, fueling speculation about Yemen’s next steps as the United States and Saudi Arabia continue pressure on the country.

Warnings over Saudi Escalation

The announcement followed a series of warnings by Abdullah al-Nuaimi, a member of Ansarallah’s Political Bureau, who said the region is approaching a “major explosion” because of the US aggression against Iran and the continuing blockade on Yemen.

Speaking to Al Mayadeen, al-Nuaimi said that if the conflict expands, “the greatest loser will be the United States.”

He added that Yemen remains in full military and political coordination with the Axis of Resistance, describing the confrontation as “one battle.”

Sana’a Airport

Al-Nuaimi said Sana’a International Airport will receive flights from all countries, warning that any Saudi attempt to intercept flights to or from the airport would provoke a “comprehensive response” that could ignite the region.

He also revealed that Saudi Arabia had presented proposals that included financial incentives and expanded territorial influence for Ansarallah, saying the movement rejected them.

He warned that Saudi Arabia “is full of lucrative targets” within range of Yemen’s missiles and drones.

Popular Mobilization

The statements came days after massive rallies were held in Sana’a and other Yemeni provinces under the slogan “Friday of Warning and Mobilization.”

Participants declared their support for Ansarallah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi and endorsed the movement’s position that “the blockade is war, and the response will be in kind.”

Earlier, al-Houthi warned that if Saudi Arabia escalates militarily, Yemen would respond “blockade for blockade,” adding that Saudi oil facilities and other strategic infrastructure would become targets of Yemeni missiles and drones.
