Indian Media: US Panel – China Maliciously Spread Disinformation After Operation Sindoor

 Operation Sindoor

A new report by the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission has accused China of orchestrating a disinformation campaign in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. The advisory body to the US Congress stated that Beijing used fake social media accounts to circulate AI-generated images portraying fabricated aircraft debris, allegedly to undermine sales of French Rafale jets and promote its own J-35 fighters.

The report said, China also sought to exploit the India-Pakistan conflict in May this year to highlight the sophistication of its weapons amid ongoing border tensions with India. Operation Sindoor was launched by India in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 innocent civilians were killed. Indian Air Force Chief AP Singh later confirmed that Indian forces destroyed five Pakistani fighter jets and a major surveillance aircraft.
