To boost bilateral trade, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan sign agreements for $82 million

Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed export contracts and agreements for $82.2 million at the business forum in Termez, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan said.

Over 60 Afghan companies partook in the forum.

Uzbekistan will supply oil and gas, textile, food products and construction materials to Afghanistan.

Uztrade signed contracts for $15.5 million. Companies in Surhandarya region signed contracts for $15 million. Uzbekneftegas signed contracts for $11.5 million. Uztextileprom signed contracts for $10 million. Uzsanoatexport signed deals for $10 million. The Export Promition Agency signed agreements for $8.8 million.

Bilateral talks were held with the delegation of Afghanistan, when the sides discussed prospects of accelerated growth of bilateral trade via a cross-border trade zone.
