Uzbekistan, UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia review cooperation
Bishkek (AKIpress) – UN-Uzbek tiesForeign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov today received Special Representative and head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Petko Draganov in Tashkent, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.
They discussed cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UNRCCA, as well as important international and regional issues.
The UNRCCA was established by the Security Council on May 16, 2007 at the proposal of 5 Central Asian countries. The initiative of the governments occurred due to the presence of increasing number of threats in Central Asia, including international terrorism and extremism, illicit drug trafficking, organized crime and deterioration of the environment.
