Mongolia and China to cooperate in mineral resources

Prime Minister Uchral Nyam-Osor met with Premier of China Li Qiang on the sidelines of the Summer Davos Forum in Dalian on June 23, Montsame reported.

The two sides discussed advancing cooperation in trade, economy, infrastructure, mineral resources, energy, green development, new technology, and innovation with tangible projects under the comprehensive partnership.

Prime Minister Uchral said Mongolia would maintain policy continuity and work to implement agreements reached at the highest levels between the two countries through practical cooperation and concrete projects.

He emphasized Mongolia’s goal of moving beyond raw materials export by developing value-added processing industries. They discussed the progress of joint projects with China in copper, aluminum, and steel processing, as well as addressing the implementation challenges. Uchral said that Mongolia views the projects as strategically important for economic diversification, job creation, technology transfer, and export growth.

Premier Li said China attaches great importance to its relations with Mongolia and is pleased with the steady development of mutually beneficial cooperation based on mutual respect and trust.

 

The parties agreed to work toward creating a favorable legal framework to promote business cooperation, diversify trade, expand exports, and strengthen collaboration in manufacturing, infrastructure, transport and logistics, and energy.
